Easy January Dinner

Come home tired, cold and hungry but do not want to put a lot of time into a good dinner? Say no more. This recipe is for you! This three ingredient stew is a go to favorite on a cold winter day.

Here is what you need to make this delicious stew.
  • half a gallon of milk (whole, 2 percent or skim your choice. I personally make with whole milk)
  • half a stick of butter
  • one 15 oz can of salmon
  • half of an onion (optional)
  • salt and pepper (optional)
Pour the half a gallon of milk into a sauce pan on medium-high heat and put the butter in the milk to melt.  Watch very closely and stir often. It will boil over and scorch very easily. Once the butter has melted turn it down to low heat.

While the butter is melting open the can of salmon and take out all of the bones and discard them. Pour the remaining salmon meat into the milk/butter mixture crumbling it finely as you do. If desired, add the half of an onion, chopped finely. Add salt and pepper to taste. Allow to cook on low heat for 30-40 minutes so salmon has time to cook. Enjoy!

While you are eating your stew if you find you have dry, itchy, winter skin, jump on over to my main page to see how to kiss dry skin goodbye.

Do you have an easy recipe that requires little preparation? If so I would love to hear about it!
