Evicting Cancer Causing Agents- Part 1
Call me over protective. Call me a health nut. Call me plain crazy. I don't care. I am on a mission to cut all of the known cancer causing agents out of my house! As I write this to you my 82 year old grandmother lays in a bed in the hospital with anywhere from days to weeks to live. Why? CANCER! She had melanoma several years ago in a mole and she had it removed. It came back into the lymph nodes in her neck and they removed all of the lymph nodes and muscle in her neck but now its back and it is in her brain. It absolutely is killing me to see her laying there like she is. It is killing me to see my father cry over the thought of what is coming. While I may not be able to prevent environment cancer causing agents from being present, I can prevent from putting them into my body and on my skin. So today, I am kicking deodorant! I'm not going to be stinking because I have made a D.I.Y deodorant for both me and my husband AND IT WORKS!! Plus, it has NO cancer causing agents!

Are Family Devotions Important?
Do you do devotions with your family? Truth be told I did not until several years ago. For me it is important to raise my children in the ways of the Lord. But the busyness of life kept me from taking time daily to talk with my kids much about the Lord. I mean face it. If you are not very intentional, you could go through life without teaching them a lot of things. The point is when you want your kids to learn something new, you are very intentional about making sure they are taught. God is not different. You have to MAKE IT HAPPEN! But are they getting anything out of it? Is it making a difference? Keep reading. You might be surprised at what you learn!

One Handed Finance System
In March of last year I wrote a post about how I was organizing my finances- the finance binder. It worked well for a while but I found it was kind of awkward to take with my anywhere. There are some weeks that I just am busier than others so I needed something I could take with me. There is nothing wrong with the finance binder if you leave all of your stuff at home but my new one handed finance system works better for those on the go! Ready to see it? It is so easy, you are gonna love it!Monday, January 5, 2015
Move Over Pills, Oils Are Here!
Have you ever had a runny nose, headache, toothache, earache, backache, cough, congestion? Well you get the picture. Being human, I'm guessing everyone who reads this will answer yes. But my next question is, what do you do when you have one of these things? For me it was usually drive to the local pharmacy or store and pick up the brand drug of choice, drive home, take it, and then usually need another type of drug to counteract something that the drug I just took did. Did that make sense? Okay it did to me. So what do you do? We live in a world where pharmaceuticals are at an all time high. Don't believe me how bad it is? Look it up! I searched for drug epidemic and I found different numbers but all of them were shocking. So what do we do about it? For me and my family, we are easing up on the pills and we have turned to using essential oils.

Enjoying Every Moment
I am sure you probably get tired of reading reminders about enjoying everyday but I can't help it- It is something dear to my heart. Maybe I don't even put it on here to remind you as much as I do it to remind myself.
One of my deepest fears is that something tragic will happen to my kids. I am so paranoid sometimes it isn't even funny. My husband gets so aggravated at me sometimes and says that I can think up the most crazy things. I can't help it! Working as a 911 dispatcher, I answer phones to hear some of the worst things on the other end.
But today I read a story that reminded me what I have been fussing about for the last several days, is actually something I had better be enjoying. {...}

I Want To .... I Want To .... I Want.
Do you do that? I drive myself nuts sometimes doing it!
I want to sew.
I want to read.
I want to cook.
I want to clean.
I want to play with my boys.
I want to surf the internet.
I want to help my hubby on his tractor.
I want...
I want...
I want...
But there is never enough time in the day to do it all!

NOT What I Thought!
List 6 things you've learned from your oldest child. Just 6? I could go on and on and on. Okay. 6 it is!
But this is a freebie before I start. Pregnancy HURTS! I never knew my body could do such weird things before I had an alien in my guts! Hahaha, no in all seriousness, it HURT! This was a week before I went into labor with my first child.

New Easter Tradition
I must admit while others are oohing and ahhing over Halloween, Christmas or other holidays I am in my element during this time of year! I absolutely LOVE Easter!! There is nothing more special to me than the meaning behind Easter. However, I must admit, last year our family discovered a new aspect of Easter that just made the week before Easter more intimate. Learning While Having Fun
It is one of those things that you do not really worry about when you are pregnant with that first small bundle of joy. "How do I play with my kids?", is not really the top question on our minds. I would always tell my kids, "Ya'll go play with your toys. You have all those toys in there but yet you say you are bored!?"
Ian, my 2 year old, would get quiet all of a sudden and when I went hunting him he was standing on his stool in their bathroom playing in the sink- with water! I would fuss and tell him to get out. BUT THEN I came across my new favorite blog. But at first I thought this mom was a little crazy, I must admit. BUT THEN.... [...]

This Gold's Worth More Than Gold!
Kind of a cliche don't you think? How can gold be worth more than gold? Well you see, to me, "something" is not worth a lot unless there is a memory to be found with it. I have a lot of things that I refuse to dispose of. But if it came down to it, I would not be devastated if something happened to certain things. On the other hand, there are a few things in life that I would be in tears over if something happened to them. For one, my pictures. Pictures of my husband and I in our dating years. Pictures of each of the births of our boys. Pictures of them growing up. And then there is my ..........................

Skeletons in My Refrigerator- Organizing Time!!
I'm sure you have heard the expression, Skeletons in the Closet, but to day I must admit I have had skeletons in my refrigerator. No not literal skeletons! I mean that there was something in there I wanted to hide! Do you see it?
It looks like I have not cleaned it out in MONTHS! But the truth is most of the time I do it every Wednesday. There are occasional times that we have something going on and I do not get it done smack dab on Wednesday. If I do not get it done on Wednesday I do clean it out either that next day or Friday at the latest.
This was not working! We crammed and crammed all week long and if someone came over I dreaded them opening the refrigerator come Tuesday!
I have learned about myself I do so much better with cleaning and house keeping if I do things everyday. So how can I incorporate that into this situation?
