Friday's Fave Five 01.16.2015

Well I am a day late but better late than never. :) I had a great week as I hope you did as well. My whole week was enjoyable because we spent most of it spending time with family. My favorite part of the week was a trip out of town with my parents. We went to a new business in search of some essential oils we are having trouble finding. All of our local businesses carry the same oils all the time and get aggravated when we request them to order special ones for us. :( Then we had a coffee run because my feet were freezing!

Prayers For Our Children

Do you ever think, I should pray more for my kids or grand kids? Do you feel you repeat the same thing every time you do pray for them? (God keep them safe, healthy and grow up to live for you.) Do you wish you could go to a prayer meeting but do not have time? Have you been to a prayer meeting and it has only been talking and no praying? Well I have got good news for you!!! Keep reading!!

Are Family Devotions Important?

Do you do devotions with your family? Truth be told I did not until several years ago. For me it is important to raise my children in the ways of the Lord. But the busyness of life kept me from taking time daily to talk with my kids much about the Lord. I mean face it. If you are not very intentional, you could go through life without teaching them a lot of things. The point is when you want your kids to learn something new, you are very intentional about making sure they are taught. God is not different. You have to MAKE IT HAPPEN! But are they getting anything out of it? Is it making a difference? Keep reading. You might be surprised at what you learn!

When You Gonna Get Married?

As a young person wanting to get married some day those words get old. Seriously! But when my 3 year old asked me that several times this last week, well, I wondered why he was asking. Initially I asked him why he wanted to know that. I got the response that he wanted to marry me. But after the first several times I was a little concerned. When I told him that we got married before he was born, well he was stumped. It is as if he did not understand that we were here before he was. But what I did next showed not only him we had gotten married but reminded me why too. What should you do if you are still waiting on that perfect spouse to come along? Keep reading!

Friday's Fave Five 01.09.2015

This has been a glorious week! I have had so many wonderful moments it is hard to pick just five to share with you but since I must, here we go! Number one would have to be when I told my youngest, Aaron to cheese. This is what came out. Don't you love it? :)

Fridays Fave Five 01.02.2015

I like the idea of recapping the week to remember what was great about it. Focusing on the positive always helps one to forget about the negative and after all we are blessed in far more ways than we take time to acknowledge. SO, each Friday I want to take time to post my favorite five things about the week. To summarize this week as a teaser here are my five keywords: bottom, book, basement, cat, couch. To get the full story, keep reading! Here goes for this week....

A New Year's Sweeping

I hope you all had a wonderful New Year Day. More importantly I hope you truly do have a good new YEAR. So how did you spend your day? Mine was one of taking down Christmas decorations, blogging and spending time with family. Today I am not going to do another how to post (as much as I love to do those) but I wanted to let you in on a little fun piece of
my world.

New Year's Resolution: Pay Attention in Church- Free Printable

A new year always brings with it new year's resolutions. What better resolution than to spend more time with the person who means the most to you. No not a girlfriend, boyfriend, mom, dad, or spouse. Some one more important: God. Today I have some (more specifically four!) free printables for you to print and give to your child to help them learn to pay attention in church. Instead of doodling super heroes, dolls or who knows what else, these printables will encourage them to doodle about the message. And hopefully they will be learning important information along the way.

Hello Sanity! I have missed you...

I cannot believe that it has been several months since I have blogged! I do miss it and think of posting from time to time but life has been a bit crazy here lately. Not in a bad way, but in a good way that I am going to share more about soon. New life changes, new hobbies, new accomplishments, new projects, yep I am going to have a lot to share in the days to come. But today I want to remind you of something that I needed to be reminded of but did not even realize it. Pull up a chair and lets have one of those "mama/ child" conversations.

Enjoying Every Moment

I am sure you probably get tired of reading reminders about enjoying everyday but I can't help it- It is something dear to my heart. Maybe I don't even put it on here to remind you as much as I do it to remind myself.
One of my deepest fears is that something tragic will happen to my kids. I am so paranoid sometimes it isn't even funny. My husband gets so aggravated at me sometimes and says that I can think up the most crazy things. I can't help it! Working as a 911 dispatcher, I answer phones to hear some of the worst things on the other end.
But today I read a story that reminded me what I have been fussing about for the last several days, is actually something I had better be enjoying. {...}

NOT What I Thought!

List 6 things you've learned from your oldest child. Just 6? I could go on and on and on. Okay. 6 it is!

But this is a freebie before I start. Pregnancy HURTS! I never knew my body could do such weird things before I had an alien in my guts! Hahaha, no in all seriousness, it HURT! This was a week before I went into labor with my first child.

DIY Crafts for Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes (and my kids)!

So today I am super super excited! I was playing around on Pinterest (don't you dare ask me how long I spend on Pinterest in any given week! ;) and I came across two separate ideas that I wanted to make for my two oldest boys. One is a magnetic road set and the other a mini stove. But once I got to making them, it hit me! These would be PERFECT to go in my Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes!!!

A Mighty Presence

Before I tell you about the mighty presence, I want to tell you why it was so mighty! This is a picture of my nephews back. To make a long story short, he was vomiting a lot, acting really fussy and we could not figure out why. The doctor put him on Pedialite for a full day and then he was to start drinking formula again. Once he drank the first bottle after his "fast" this is what it did to him!

Learning While Having Fun

It is one of those things that you do not really worry about when you are pregnant with that first small bundle of joy. "How do I play with my kids?", is not really the top question on our minds. I would always tell my kids, "Ya'll go play with your toys. You have all those toys in there but yet you say you are bored!?"

Ian, my 2 year old, would get quiet all of a sudden and when I went hunting him he was standing on his stool in their bathroom playing in the sink- with water! I would fuss and tell him to get out. BUT THEN I came across my new favorite blog. But at first I thought this mom was a little crazy, I must admit. BUT THEN.... [...]

I LOST IT!!!!! But He was there....

The view was gloomy. Was it the view itself or the overall situation that made things gloomy? Nobody likes the feeling of being trapped in a room where the windows will not open, the doors are secured with locks, and people are continuously coming in and out checking on you at all times of the day and night. But then, nobody likes being in the hospital either! The view outside the window was nothing to brag about- just the side of a building and rooftops from buildings below. Where was the beauty in this situation!!?? It was there, you just had to look. [....]

Exchanging Blinders For Smiles

Blinders. You  know. Those things they put on horses eyes. The purpose of placing the blinders over the sides of the horses eyes is so that the horse does not see all of the things going on around it. With their eye's focused only on what is ahead, they will not get spooked by things going on around them. Blinders keep them focused. In some cases, being focused can be a good thing. It can help us get to our location safely- when we focus on our driving. It can help us with dinner or lack of focus may led to a smoking kitchen and burnt dinner! Not that I am speaking from experience here by any means. But today I discovered my blinders were causing me to miss out. Miss out on smiles.

Hey There- It's Been A While!

Well hey there dear! How you been? Hasn't our world been just crazy here lately!? So much has happened since I last posted but I have tr...
